This position provides management, strategic planning and oversight of tactical execution of all aspects of Warranty operations at Kia North America (Kia NA), including (a) the development of policies, procedures to facilitate the Kia warranties between North America subsidiaries and Kia manufacturing plants, (b) responsibility to determine the terms of reimbursement conditions for the subsidiaries and manufacturing plants in the area, (c) establish the warranty target and manage the achievement rate for each subsidiary in the Region (d) Claim & Key Performance Index (KPI) management (e) assisting the subsidiaries warranty operations to work smoothly and be the bridge to pass the request of subsidiaries to Kia Headquarter Korea (Kia HQ) or Regional / Overseas plants.  The position ensures alignment in direction between all Kia North America subsidiaries.  

Major Responsibilities

Priority Major Responsibility %
1st Manage the development and implementation of Kia North America warranties. Research the market and set up a regional warranty policy. Investigate and inform the trends of competitors with new technologies and request or suggest Kia HQ if there are any proposes or requests of the adjustment in the warranty policy.
In order to establish a competitive warranty, must understand the market conditions and competitive trends that need to be shared and discussed the matter with Kia HQ and Regional plants to determine the warranty terms. Subject to the terms of warranty determined in the area, warranty contract will proceed and renewed. Finally, the terms will be registered on Global Warranty Management System (GWMS).
2nd Warranty target and KPI management
Establish the warranty target and manage the achievement rate for each subsidiary in the Region. To do this, the warranty manager should continuously monitor and analyze the status of the area's warranty costs and encourage each subsidiary to achieve its target. If necessary, the warranty manager should plan to make up for the target and work with the subsidiary to meet the Warranty cost management and cost-saving plan.
3rd Coordinating warranty issues in the region
Regular warranty key KPI analysis report. Analytical reporting on issues and suggesting solutions. Organize and follow up regular or irregular meetings with Subsidiaries, Regional Plants and Kia HQ.



  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required

Overall Experience

  • Minimum of 7+ years of automotive industry experience with steady and progressive responsibilities in Warranty Operations / Assurance or Technical responsibilities
  • Minimum of 3 years the at the OE manufacturer /distributor level
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience

Directly Related Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing operations experience (Warranty Administration and / or Warranty Assurance manufacturer plant side)
  • Automotive warranty cost management and claims processing experience.
  • Practical applied experience and / or certifications in Quality Technology disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, SPC, Design of Experiments, Quality System Certifications of TS 16949 and Auditing.


Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and independent critical thinking skills including statistical analysis
Knowledge and understanding of systems development and maintenance
MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Sharepoint is a plus
Planning, training, motivation, implementation and management skills
Strong people management, written and oral presentation skills
Technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair
