Status
Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is the research, develop, revise technical documentation for servicing the vehicle, service campaigns and recalls. Consult with personnel from Product Quality, North American Safety Office, Warranty, Service and Parts Departments and gain approvals as necessary. Maintains information in multiple databases, creates pictorial and photo illustrations. Assesses the user needs and writes, edits, and maintains technical documentation with job aids, removal and installation instructions, technical instruction in the service bulletins as required in PQMS.
Major Responsibilities
1st Priority - 50%
Manage, with supervision, the complete documentation cycle for number of documentation projects.
2nd Priority - 20%
Organize content into a logical flow and tailors’ language to target audience; write and edit according to established standards.
3rd Priority - 20%
Gather and assimilate information from a variety of sources & research content for new and revised documents.
4th Priority - 10%
Participate in and conducts team meeting and peer reviews; share information and experience with peers and provide input for policies and standards.
5th Priority - 10%
Manage the flow of assigned tasks and tracks scope changes.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Technical certification preferred
Overall Experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience performing writing, editing and researching functions to prepare print or online technical documentation
Directly Related Experience
- Related industry experience strongly preferred
- A membership or affiliation with a professional organization for Technical Communication desired
