Summary

Monitor Kia vehicle performance conditions in the field regarding safety and reliability. Provide technical support to Consumer Affairs for vehicle claim resolution. Perform vehicle inspections to support consumer claim defense and monitor vehicle performance.  Provide technical analysis of vehicles involved in claims, Lemon Law, and warranty related litigation.

Major Responsibilities

1st - Monitor Kia vehicles performance conditions in the field regarding potential safety and reliability conditions. (30%)

2nd - Provide technical support to Consumer Affairs for vehicle claim resolution. (30%) 

3rd - Perform vehicle inspections to support claims, Lemon Law and Warranty claim analysis. Accident and fire vehicles are inspected to determine if vehicle systems performed properly to resolve claims. (15%)

4th - Provide technical assistance to KMA Legal and outside counsel for claims and lawsuit case defense and trial preparation. (15%)

5th - Monitor review and track NHTSA complaints and government investigations. (10%)

 

Education/Certification

  • BS degree in Engineering or Automotive Technology or equivalent work experience required.

Overall Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in automotive technical positions such as Product Quality or in an engineering environment.  

Directly Related Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of automobiles with the ability to perform hands-on vehicle system performance assessments.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Frequent domestic travel (over 50%) and occasional international travel required
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
     

Skills

Hands-on automotive technical knowledge of body, chassis, power train, brakes, electrical, and safety systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of statistical and in-life analysis using Weibull software
Ability to work and communicate clearly with members of various KMNA/KMA Departments.
Advanced knowledge of standard PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Pay Range

$69,547.00 - $90,401.00 

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
