Status
Summary
External will be executing dealer warranty claim audits, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting. This role will ensure that audits are completed within time budget, that state laws are followed in respect to such audits and ensuring that dealers are complying with Kia America (KUS) Service policy. This role will communicate audit results to senior management and dealership personnel. The Warranty Auditor External will be seen as a positive and helpful resource for dealers and KUS field service.
Major Responsibilities
1st Priority - 45%
Execute Dealer Warranty Claims Audits including, planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Ensure that Dealer Warranty Audits are completed as assigned within time budget. Ensure through audits that dealers are complying with KUS’s service policy. Ensure KUS compliance with state statutes on dealer warranty audits. Travel is expected up to 60% to 75%. Demonstrates leadership by utilizing available resources effectively to complete all assigned audits within approved time budget. Follow best practices in selecting dealers for review. Abide by department policy on audit notification to the dealers and regions. Complete the audit with a written deliverable document that is shared with KUS management and the audited dealer. Communicate with KUS management.
2nd Priority - 20%
Develop/enhance audit techniques to identify & address out-of-line dealer warranty activity. Work with other KUS stakeholders to resolve disputes or prepare legal counsel for litigation/negotiations. Provide guidance to KUS Warranty Assurance staff on best practices for researching dealer compliance, and audit preparation/execution.
3rd Priority - 20%
Develop and/or enhance processes using the systems available. Work with KUS management and HAEA to develop, enhance or correct systems as needed. Attend planning meeting as needed to provide Warranty Audit perspective for new systems within KUS.
4th Priority - 10%
Help develop a written policy and procedures manual for in-dealer audits. Update policies/procedures as needed. Communicate the changes within the warranty department. Assist with the annual audit planning and budget.
5th Priority - 10%
Represent KUS Warranty in dealer reviews/visits in cooperation with KNA, KHQ, or other Kia affiliates.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent work experience required.
Overall Experience
- 5+ years working experience conducting dealer on-site audits.
- 3-5 years formal audit experience in a corporate environment preferred.
Directly Related Experience
- 7+ OEM Automotive field service experience (e.g., DPSM) preferred
- Proficient technical background & ASE certification preferred
- Project management experiences a plus.
Position Requirements:
- Travel is expected up to 60% to 75% domestically.
- May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range
$98,556 - $112,792
Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
