Summary

Oversees all aspects of daily operations. Directly responsible for insuring regional and corporate wholesale objectives are executed at the operational level. Insures adherence by KMA’s logistics vendor of KMA policies, procedures and objectives. Oversee all Port Installed Option (PIO) operation, including but not limited to parts inventory management and installation facilitation.

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 40%

Work with all 5 KMA regions, Fleet and logistics provider to develop and monitor daily, weekly and monthly port production targets. Resolve port production issues as they arise.

 

2nd Priority - 20%

Maintain open and regular communications between KMA’s logistics provider and KMA corporate/regional management teams to ensure all necessary Port Installed Options (PIO) parts are available for all port processing.

 

3rd Priority - 20%

Monitor vendor billing, including off-site storage, transportation and general processing expenses.

 

4th Priority - 10%

Conduct regular audits of logistics provider and VPCs to ensure compliance with KMA policies, goals and objectives.

 

5th Priority- 10%

Negotiate and monitor contractual agreement with logistics vendor.

Education/Certification
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
Overall Experience
  • General knowledge of vehicle handling processes and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of US Customs practices relating to importation of new vehicles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle transportation practices and processes; operation of large scale logistics networks
  • In-depth understanding of distribution management; P&L responsibility for a large scale logistics network;
  • Knowledge of US Customs regulations and practices; management experience in a union environment.
  • Knowledge of AAR rail multi-level fleet sizing methodology
Directly Related Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in wholesale automotive logistics network design; design of automated payment and tracking systems
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory or management experience in vehicle logistics or port operations with an automotive importer or manufacturer.
  • 7+ years of experience in selecting and developing vehicle processing facilities
  • 5+ years of experience in negotiating short and long term land leases with governmental agencies; management of a vehicle processing or post-production facility
  • 5+ experience in contracting and managing shipments via ocean carrier; experience in contracting and managing shipment via rail; experience in contracting and managing shipments via truck;
Skills
Excellent communication skills required (written and oral)
Excellent MS Office suite skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
