Summary

Senior income tax administrator will be primarily responsible for U.S. tax compliance, including preparation of federal and states income tax returns, calculation of estimated taxes/extension as well as processing all income tax payments. This position will also be responsible for responding to tax notices and audit information requests and conducting tax research as needed. Further, this position will be assisting in preparation of the income tax provision calculations. This position will gain exposure to various other business departments and mentorship.

Major Responsibilities

Priority 1st - 40%

Prepare consolidated and standalone corporate income tax returns for federal and all 50 states and relevant workpapers, including the supporting schedules for each book-tax adjustment, state apportionment schedules and consolidation workpapers, etc. Also, calculate and maintain company’s tax depreciation schedules on a tax fixed asset software.

Prepare Form 1042 series.

Assist with EV tax credit certification and reporting.

Priority 2nd - 15%

Prepare quarterly estimated income tax and extension calculations. Process all income tax payments in a timely manner.

Priority 3rd - 20%

Coordinate and prepare written responses to various tax notices and audit information requests from federal and states.

Priority 4th - 20%

Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual tax provision (IFRS) calculations and assist in preparing responses to the 3rd party auditor’s inquiries.

Priority 5th - 5%

Conduct research on tax laws.

Support special projects on an ad-hoc basis.

Education/Certification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Overall Experience

  • Understanding of general accounting and income tax laws
  • Automotive industry experience preferred

Directly Related Experience

  • 5+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting firm and/or large corporate finance/tax department
  • 5+ years of consolidated federal and multi-state tax return preparation experience.
  • Strong knowledge in multi-state related tax issues and apportionment rules.
  • Knowledgeable with international tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8891, 8892, etc.
  • Knowledgeable with foreign payment withholding tax and FATCA issues, including Forms 1042.   
  • Proficient in IFRS or GAAP income tax provision calculations.
  • Big 4 and multinational corporation tax experience preferred.

Skills

Experience with SAP
High level of proficiency in tax research on CCH, RIA, and BNA required.
High level of proficiency in tax return preparation software (OneSource) required.
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required to create workpapers, schedules, and reports from original source documents.
Strong analytical skills and ability to read tax statutes of various tax jurisdictions.
Intermediate level knowledge of federal and state income tax laws, including those applicable to consolidated/combined returns.
High level of proficiency in Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS or similar tax fixed assets software.

Pay Range

$76,535.00 -  $99,462 

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
