Summary

Under the direction of the Long-Range Strategy Manager, and in coordination with Kia North America Product Planning executives, this role is responsible for analysis of Kia’s CAFÉ, GHG, and ZEV compliance and related strategies. This includes monitoring fuel economy and emissions regulations and legislation, and Kia compliance with CAFÉ, GHG, and ZEV regulations, as well as performing related calculations/analysis. The job can lead to increasing responsibilities and escalating positions.

Major Responsibilities

1st Monitor and analyze Kia CAFÉ, GHG, and ZEV compliance, in support of near and longer-term compliance requirements.
Update Excel-based CAFÉ/GHG compliance model.

2nd Track CAFÉ, GHG, and ZEV legislation and policy developments. Prepare strategic recommendations.  20%
3rd Prepare CAFÉ, GHG, and ZEV compliance status reports. 20%
4th Ad hoc regulatory compliance analysis/reports. 10%

 

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Advanced degree (MSE, MBA) preferred
     

Overall Experience

  • 5+ years professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance related role, engineering, or related fields
  • Automotive industry experience highly desired 
     

Directly Related Experience

  • Exceptional Excel competency 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Knowledge of automotive regulations/general regulatory landscape
  • Knowledge of green automotive sectors (hybrid, PHEV, FCEV, EV)
  • Ability to distill complex data into concise executive reports
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Other Requirements:

  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally
