Status
Summary
The Public Relations and Corporate Communications Specialist will help showcase, monitor, and maintain visibility of the Kia brand in earned media. The position will support a dynamic team of public relations professionals with identifying current trends and conversations, identifying relevant media trends and opportunities as well as compelling pitch angles, focusing on corporate themes in the automotive industry. This individual will partner with the product communications team and our PR agency and play a crucial role in shaping our integrated and evolving approach to communications.
This will include support of our larger corporate storytelling strategy, provide associated data collection and provision, and capture of internal stories to extend our message into an expanded roster of outlets, especially within Lifestyle, Business, Multicultural and Entertainment media. This role will also support the Head of Corporate Communications with departmental process and document control, including media statement production, coordination and delivery.
Major Responsibilities
1st Priority - 40%
Support internal and external project/media coordination and process management, including Executive and budgetary support.
PR/Corp Comm documentation and publication production and support, including production and management approval processes for press releases, reactive/recall/legal corporate statements, EADs, post-event recap reports, media monitoring reports production, maintenance of Executive speaking engagements, draft Q&A and other supporting documents and others as assigned.
2nd Priority - 20%
Provide PR support and interface with media and KUS Executives during key events, including NPIs, auto shows, regional media events, and other profile-raising projects.
3rd Priority - 20%
Maintain dedicated focus on internal KUS activities as source of media content, including Marketing campaigns, third-party awards and promotional engagements.
4th Priority - 10%
Collect and maintain Corporate Communications “calendar” for distribution to relevant KUS departments including KHQ and maintain PR department business continuity plan. Act as secondary Corp Comm point of contact for coordination with KUS Legal, Finance, Consumer Affairs, Product Quality and other relevant areas. Assist with preparation and processing of departmental expense reporting.
5th Priority - 10%
Work closely with Product Communications to integrate upcoming new product and technology debuts into standard Corporate Communications documents, including Monthly Key Messages, Weekly Reports, Autoway, and Executive speaking engagements.
Education/Certification

BA in Communications with emphasis on Public and Media Relations
Overall Experience

5-7 years in Automotive, Technology, Media or Travel industries in-house or at agency
Directly Related Experience

Pay Range
$63,106.00 - $84,678.00
Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
