Summary

This position is responsible for driving the marketing portion of launch process through coordination with Product Planning, Business Insights, & Marketing departments. Lead the launch of related research projects including launch clinics, positioning focus groups & creative focus groups. This position will support strategy and planning process for new vehicle launches and facelifts. Manage product-related primary and secondary market research, including, but not limited to:  designing research parameters and scope, determining recruiting screeners, developing discussion guides and materials.

Major Responsibilities

Priority 1st - 35%

Drive Launch Process and Coordination including; running integration meetings, conducting Competitive Analysis (work with Product Planning & DnG), working with Marketing Counterparts to coordinate launch in terms of timing & marketing efforts, support launch strategy and planning to ensure communication of launch progress and status.

Priority 2nd - 20%

Oversees development of positioning and creative research (focus groups).  Supports the strategic development process (positioning development, target demographics) based on research findings.

Priority 3rd - 20%

Manages product clinics for future and current vehicles including the design and implementation of product clinics.

Priority 4th - 15%

Primarily liaison with KMNA for all KMC product related and marketing communications related research

Priority 5th - 10%

Works closely with Product Planning and Business Insights departments to identify product-related research needs, assist with research related tasks and analysis, and provide recommendations based on analysis.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
  • MBA Preferred

Overall Experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility with ad hoc market research and analysis projects
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, multiethnic environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex research data and reports
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with key suppliers

Other Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally.
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Directly Related Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years of product or marketing research experience with an OEM or OEM partner
  • Must have solid understanding of automotive industry, automotive products, automotive market research and usage, as well as related research concepts including ethnographic, demographics, psychographics, etc
