Summary

The National Manager, Product Planning and Pricing manages staff and processes to develop concepts, strategies, proposals, and recommendations for assigned current and future products and all pricing in coordination with Kia HQ, Kia Georgia (KaGA), HATCI, Kia Design Center (KDCA), Sales, Marketing and Finance to optimize our competitiveness.  They will manage product and pricing development, negotiate resources, and present recommendations to executive management.   This position promotes and presents new product and pricing actions to internal and external partners and the public.   They are directly responsible for assigned product and all pricing management, timely development, model-line coordination and execution. The National Manager will effectively lead a team of direct and indirect reports.

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 20%

Manage development, negotiate and present product strategies for current and future models.  Account for product and customer trends, market and lineup positioning, competitive actions, volume, price, profit and residual value potential. Optimize product concepts and strategies to support lifecycle management and balance internal strengths with external challenges to satisfy customers and meet profit objectives.

2nd Priority - 35%

Manage development, negotiate and present pricing strategies for all current and future models. Price planning to begin at concept stage and continue throughout development with regular checks of value added, margin and volume potential.  Manage the system that verifies KUS model, trim and option package content, pricing and cost match factory build data to confirm that inputs into the KUS SAP system are aligned with those of Kia HQ, KaGA, and Kia Mexico (KMX) at the OCN level. Supervise accurate and timely execution of vehicle pricing proposals and distribution of pricing information to both internal and external customers.

3rd Priority - 20%

Support and manage product planning and pricing staff and develop processes that ensure product and pricing development and launch activities are timely, accurate and consistent (across the product lines) with thorough consideration of all factors and clear communication and collaboration with all necessary parties.       

4th Priority - 15%

Supervise price reports and value analysis – Manage monthly price reports and value analysis required to support pricing analysis. Manage and negotiate updates of feature value table and coordinate with Kia HQ and internal counterparts.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s degree preferred
     

Overall Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in automotive planning, pricing, marketing or related field

Directly Related Experience

  • 3+ years people management and leadership experience Advanced analysis of complex problems 
  • Presentation to executives, media and the general public 
  • Negotiation of challenging deadlines, resource limitations
  • 10+ years product planning and pricing experience
  • Design, material and component evaluations   
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Position requires driving Kia and competitor vehicles to evaluate vehicles.

Pay Range

$130,919 - $188,879

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
