Status
Summary
Find, synthesize/analyze relevant business and market information to formulate insights for Kia North America executive management. Assist in developing company business plans, support cost-effective decision-making/ implementation and provide leading support of key strategic initiatives (example: Plan S ramp up of electrification/ purpose-built vehicles/ mobility services). Report on model monthly performance and quarterly marginal profits. Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives as necessary in support of executive management goals.
Major Responsibilities
1st Priority - 25%
Synthesize available data on trends and future forecasts from all aspects of the business into clear insights to help shape the company business plans and executions. Provide thought leadership on emerging consumer trends and market developments that would likely influence today’s business decisions. Supervise reporting of quarterly updates on Industry and Economic trends / forecasts. Supervise production of monthly model performance tracking reports and follow-up ad-hoc analysis.
2nd Priority - 25%
Provide cross-functional leadership in development of Charging Strategies in support of KUS EV business goals. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Service, CX in developing proposed solutions for in-home, on-road and dealership charging strategies. Monitor and report on Industry trends and infrastructure development, as well as provide periodic appraisals of Kia EV charging support competitiveness. Collaborate with KUS based development teams to ensure vehicle hardware, charging capabilities and Apps meet CX goals and market competitiveness requirements. Identify partnerships / support initiatives with third-party providers for potential promotional / collaboration efforts.
3rd Priority - 15%
Supervise development of quarterly marginal profit reports for each model with key goal of identifying potential profit optimization opportunities for management consideration. Oversee maintenance of the automated profit reporting system accuracy with data QA inputs and adjustments as needed.
4th Priority - 15%
Provide input for developing company long range vehicle development business plans, taking into account company core competencies, brand position, consumer trends, industry / segment forecasts, competitor actions and regulatory environment compliance needs. Collaborate with Product Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Compliance teams in helping to develop a range of options for executive management consideration.
5th Priority - 20%
Provide Ad Hoc, quick turn-around, and high-level research for requests by the executive management team. Lead in developing special presentations to support executive management as needed Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives on as needed basis to support executive leadership goals. Acquire necessary expertise through outside resources and consultants, as appropriate, to support new projects.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Master’s degree in business or related field preferred
Overall Experience
- Minimum of 12 years as manager
Directly Related Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of successful business analysis, business planning or consulting
Position Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally
- May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
