Summary

Kia North America’s mobility team is looking for an experienced Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Strategy Manager to assist in creating the strategic direction for a new product line (along with accompanying services). 

The manager will be responsible for collaborating across multiple departments to research trends, analyze data, and develop strategies across Kia North America (U.S., Mexico, and Canada). 

Strong applicants for this role have experience in developing relationships and strategy within the Light Commercial Vehicle market, preferably with Electric Vehicles. 
 

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 40%

Investigating the Business-to-Business & Commercial market for Purpose Built Vehicles      

  • Research Business-to-Business & Commercial customers in North America
  • Identify the requirements of the future product & solutions
  • Participate in auto-delivery robot business and hub operations 

2nd Priority - 20%

Establishing the mobility business eco-system  

  • Discover collaborative elements between existing stakeholders 
  • Create new idea-based partnerships
  • Collaborate on city council-sponsored project

3rd Priority - 20%

Executing new business ideas with strategic planning       

  • Develop the new profit structure with a new business model 
  • Business feasibility check and implementation of new ideas (e.g EV subscription)

4th Priority - 10%

Analyzing the market & customer trends      

  • Analyze the main player’s strategy and derive the insight 
  • Monitor the key customer trends and forecast demand

5th Priority - 10%
Planning for a mid-to-long term strategy 

  •  Structure an integrated strategy to implement Plan S  
  • Establish the US/Canadian/Mexico strategic framework
     

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree  and equivalent work experience required.  
  • MBA preferred
     

Overall Experience

  • 10+ years of overall industry experience, with start-up experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of project management or high-level management experience 
  • 3-5 years of experience with light duty commercial vehicles, either in consulting, strategy, or business development
     

Directly Related Experience

  • Strong business analysis skills and experience 
  • Business structuring for Business-to-Business or Commercial market 
  • Experience with light duty commercial vehicle research,planning, or business development

Position Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally 
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays

Skills

Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality on all matters
Ability to multi-task, juggle competing demands, prioritize and work with other team members at all levels within the company.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of project planning preferred
Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
