Summary

The Income Tax Administrator will be responsible for (1) preparing U.S. tax compliance for all Kia North America (Kia NA) entities (including Kia America, Inc., Kia Georgia, Inc. and Hyundai Motor Georgia Metaplant America), (2) assisting the tax provision calculations, (3) maintaining comprehensive tax records and financial data for tax audits and notices, and responding to tax-related inquiries, and (4) providing support to Income Tax Senior Administrator and Federal/SALT Tax Managers. 

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 50%

  • Prepare consolidated and standalone corporate income tax returns for federal and 50 states and relevant workpapers, including the supporting schedules for each book-tax adjustment, state apportionment schedules. 
  • Collect interdepartmental information and validate data to prepare various tax workpapers and supporting schedules. Analyze and organize large volume of data.
  • Prepare the corporate quarterly estimated tax and extension calculations. Process all income tax payments in a timely manner.

2nd Priority - 20%

  • Assist with the preparation of tax provisions for all Kia NA United States entities under International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”).

3rd Priority - 15%

  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities and prepare responses to audit information requests and tax notices. 
  • Maintain the audit/notice tracker and resolve them in a timely manner.

4th Priority - 10%

  • Conduct tax-related research.
  • Support special projects on an ad-hoc basis.

5th Priority - 5%

  • Participate in tax team planning and scheduling meetings.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

Overall Experience

  • Understanding of general accounting and multi-state tax compliance
  • Experience in tracking and analyzing data using software 
  • Experience in ERP system (SAP) and AS400 highly desirable 
  • Automotive industry experience preferred
     

Directly Related Experience

  • 3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or large corporate finance/tax department 
  • 3+ years of consolidated federal and multi-state tax return preparation experience
  • Proficient in OneSource or similar tax return preparation software required.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge in multi-state related tax issues and apportionment rules.
  • Knowledge in tax depreciation

Pay Range

$61,815 - $82,796

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
