Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the daily and monthly operations of Fleet Vehicle accounting, Company Vehicle accounting, and Parts accounting sections. Reporting to the Gross Profit National Manager, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the review and processing of all related accounting entries, payment approval, preparation of analytical/management reports, monthly account reconciliations, and assisting the Gross Profit National Manager with strategic financial as well as accounting decisions and analysis.

1st Responsible for managing planning, accounting, and treatments for Fleet Vehicle, Company Vehicle, Parts, related journal entries, reconciliations, and reports, with attention to timely month-end closing. 35%
2nd Timely review and processing of Operational Support Activities, associated with Accounting and Controls (Contract Approval, Pricing Review/Approval, Allocation requests, Wholesale Returns, etc…) 20%
3rd Systems and data management for accurate and timely processing and reporting of all Fleet vehicles (Commercial Fleet and Retail Fleet) related costs, as well as management of Parts and Company Vehicle relate activities. Responsible for securing data integrity, history maintenance and for designing and producing system-automated processes and reports. 15%
4th Timely review and posting of entries by team members under leadership. 10%
5th Timely review and approval of Fleet and Company Vehicle related invoices and payment requests. 10%
6th Facilitate/Support periodic audit exercises, prepare ad-hoc reports in support of internal and external customers (operating departments and auditors) 10%

 

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance

Overall Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience required
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience required 

Directly Related Experience

  • 5 years of experience in preparing auto industry accounting related exposure

 

 

Position Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally 
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

Accounting professional in all aspects of accounting, system reviews and financial reporting and analysis for corporations.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong team leader and facilitator, foster an atmosphere that encourages highly talented accounting professionals to balance high-level skills maximum production.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret and summarize data into meaningful information.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, & AS400 Query Reporting.
Extensively experienced with accounting ERP system such as SAP.
