Summary

Under the direction of Digital Technology Management, the General Security Analyst will report to the Cybersecurity Manager and be a key member of the security team. 

This important role will oversee security administrative functions such as governance and risk management.  This includes updating Information Security Policies, overseeing IT project risk assessments, overseeing IT vendor assessments, and coordinating security related training.  A large part of this role involves managing external IT partners and ensuring they perform their security obligations in accordance with contracted terms.  Additionally, this position will collaborate with Facilities team to ensure physical IT assets are protected in accordance with local and global security policies and guidelines.  Lastly, working with cybersecurity counterparts, this role will help to raise team member awareness of information security threats via newsletters, training sessions and simulations.  
 

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 30%    

Maintains Kia America’s Security Policies, Standards and Procedues including coordinating regular updates and ensuring employees and contractors are aware of them.  This includes coordinating alignment with global Information Security Policies and Standards.

2nd Priority - 30%    

Develops and supports a security education program.  Works with counterparts and HR on the content of the program and how it will be communicated.  Program to include newsletters, multi-media training materials and presentations.

3rd Priority - 30%    

Support IT and physical security risk management activities including project risk assessments, vendor assessments and scheduling of penetration tests.  Will engage outsourced IT service provider to perform most of these tasks and ensure the results are timely and of high quality.

4th Priority - 10%    

Provide information security consulting services to key stakeholders across all business departments.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparative experience in information security
  • Security certification a plus 
     

Overall Experience

  • 5 years of work experience with 3 years in a security role
  • Experience overseeing external security service providers

  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and customer focused.
