  • Under direct supervision of Manager, General Accounting, participate in “Lean Smart Project” to identify and provide recommendations on eliminating redundant or unnecessary financial processes. Additional special project to include financial reporting enhancements with the goal of turning current manual financial reporting processes into automated reporting in financial SAP system.

Major Responsibilities

“Lean Smart Project”

1) Inquire and review billing control processes between Kia Dealers and KMA and enhance its related current documentations and identify the aforementioned inefficient or any broken process to be remedied or eliminated.

2) Inquire and review warranty related processes amongst MPA, KMA, Dealers and KMMG, and documents its current processes and identify unnecessary processes for its potential elimination.

3) Inquire and review KMA's check disbursement processes and identify following items:

- Opportunity for cost saving by mitigating duplicate payments or incorrect checks

- Identify and document different types of fees and charges KMA pays to vendors and look for any cost saving opportunities.

- Review AP policy related to "escheatment processes" and drill down detailed procedures for other KMA teams such as consumer affair and legal so it can help the teams in compliance with AP policy and the state regulations.



“Financial Reporting Enhancement Project”

1) Identify manual financial statements currently being prepared manually using excel files, including but not limited to balance sheets, income statement, equity roll forward, and cash flows.

2) Collaborate with shared IT team and SAP team to review "business requirements" for the aforementioned reports to be automatically generated in SAP for executives and the managements.

3) Support the management to draft the business requirement documentations (BRD} for its successful implantation in SAP within projected timeline.

4) Perform UAT after its system developments and identify any errors and potential improvements.



  • In progress of Bachelor’s degree
  • Business or Finance/Economics focus

Overall Experience

  • Prior internship experience a plus
  • Prior finance experience a plus

Directly Related Experience

  • Automotive knowledge or experience a plus


Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint

Excellent communication skills required (written and oral)

Well organized, with the ability to complete projects as assigned
