Under the direction of Digital Technology Management, the Cybersecurity Manager will be responsible to ensure the protection of Kia information systems and assets and manage all activities pertaining to Cybersecurity, Governance, Security Compliance functions. 

Responsible for the management of enterprise-wide security solutions to address Cybersecurity needs of the company, including connected vehicle security. Primary responsibilities include cyber security strategy, policy and standards development, cybersecurity education and awareness, data classification, risk management, governance, and compliance management. 

Provides technical thought leadership and Cybersecurity guidance to all IT projects. Capable of supporting multiple projects or priorities that are cross-functional. Leads vendor evaluation, proof-of-concepts, and product selection as applicable.   

Major Responsibilities

1st Lead enterprise Cybersecurity practice and manage all aspects of cybersecurity for systems and connected vehicles. Implement proven defenses and threat detection practices. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Cybersecurity, Governance and Compliance critical processes, best practices, and tools. Responsible to ensure the systems and processes align with regulatory, safety and industry requirements. 30%
2nd Develop, maintain, and manage Cybersecurity strategies, standards, policies, and programs to assess, prioritize and mitigate business risks. Advise the organization with current trends about information security and related regulatory issues, including analysis & proposal of security products and services to determine best risk management environment.
Manage vulnerability disclosure program for the organization.
3rd Coordinate Cybersecurity and information security related activities with business, legal, IT stakeholders and external vendors to improve security of vehicle systems, enterprise systems, data access controls, usage, and data management processes.  20%
4th Develop and report on KPI’s related to vulnerability management and incident management. Manage data access controls, security training and incident response management. 20%



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or cyber security or related field 
  • Certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CIPP or similar privacy certifications is highly desirable

Overall Experience

  • 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity Architecture, Network Security, IAM, Data Security, Governance, Risk Assessment and Compliance 
  • 3+ years of experience in performing cyber security assessments and preparing cyber strategy
  • Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001/27002, NIST, COBIT, PCI DSS and Automotive SAE J3061
  • Experience with technologies such as SAP, Big data, Cloud, EDW and software framework like .NET
  • Experience with security aspects of automotive technology such as Telematics, Connected vehicle and Connected services
