Summary

The Connected Car Intern supports Kia America, Inc.’s Connected Car and Mobility team. The intern assists in the development of strategies to improve product awareness and adoption, build loyal customer base for connected car products, and improve monetization. In this role, the intern will have the opportunity to build an understanding of Connected Car features. This will enable them to collaborate with product managers to develop product concepts and translate concepts into business requirements. The intern’s support of new products/feature development includes contributing to business model development and profit and loss analysis. 

This internship is a 10-week, full-time opportunity at Kia America’s Irvine headquarters from June 2, 2025 through August 8, 2025. The position is hybrid with one remote day per week.
 

Major Responsibilities

  • Research developing areas of Connected Car such as software defined vehicles and feature on demand. 
  • Benchmark competition, create roadmap, and prepare report.
  • Review and provide objective feedback on customer experience for Connected Car features. 
  • Assist in the development and/or enhancement of business models including revenue forecast and profit and loss.
  • Document business requirements for new features.
  • Understand reporting needs and support automation and manual reporting. 
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed, as necessary.
     

Education/Certification

  • Enrollment in or graduation from a master’s degree program required. 
  • Coursework in business management/computer science/industrial engineering preferred.
     

Overall Experience

  • Must be available for the full duration of the internship from June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025.

Directly Related Experience

  • Experience building business models in MS Excel is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) products is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of market research required.
     

Skills

Ability to prepare presentations based on audience.
Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and writing skills are required.
Ability to work with internal teams, external teams/task forces, and cross-functional teams to complete projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Ability to multi-task, juggle competing demands, prioritize and work with other team members at all levels within the company.
Strong analytical skills are required.

Pay Rate:
$35 per hour
