Status
Summary
The Benefits Administrator applies knowledge of benefit regulations, concepts, practices and procedures as well as knowledge of company policies in the administration of the company sponsored benefit program. This position is responsible for supporting the administration of team member benefit programs, including but not limited to the group health plans, life/disability insurance, 401(k) plan, workers’ compensation and ADA/leaves of absence. The benefits administrator partners with the benefits consultant and benefit program vendors to ensure successful benefit program management.
Major Responsibilities
1st Priority - 45%
Support the Kia benefit program operations by assisting team members with enrollment, program questions and further the health & wellness program initiatives.
- Benefits Administration system oversight
- 401(k) Plan Administration
- ACA Reporting
- Annual Open Enrollment Support
2nd Priority - 30%
Monitor and track monthly HR Operations expenses
- Create and track department Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders
- Submit Monthly/Quarterly Invoices to Accounts Payable (all expenses under the health & welfare program, workers’ compensation premiums, broker fees, and tuition/gym/travel reimbursements)
- Prepare Affiliate Billing
3rd Priority - 15%
Coordinate and support the efficient administration of the company leave programs, including: FMLA, PDL, CFRA, PFL, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, Work/Travel Accommodations and Ergonomic evaluations
4th Priority - 10%
Administer Workers’ Compensation program, including:
- Submitting injury claims to the carrier
- Participating in the Quarterly Carrier Claims Review
- Updating the OSHA tracking log and completing the annual required reporting
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- SHRM Certification is a plus.
Overall Experience
Minimum 4+ years of years of benefits administration experience required.
Other Requirements:
- May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
- Perform other duties as assigned
