Reporting to the Sr. Training & Certification Manager, the Training & Certification Specialist contributes to the effective business operations of Kia University (KU) by serving as the focal point to assure effective business communications and operational administration between the functional teams within the department. Functional teams supported include Retail Training (Sales, Service, and Parts), Service Technical Training, and Service Information & Equipment. This position also maximizes dealer performance results by providing KU national business support to the Learning and Content Management System (LMS/LCMS/MicroStrategy Reports) for Kia America team members and retailer personnel.

Kia University operational responsibilities include administering and tracking of the department’s purchase requisitions, purchase orders, budget, accruals, expenses, and dealer billing. Other responsibilities include assisting in driving dealer performance by synchronizing the launch, business operational support, and life cycle of the KU programs, products, and services to the national dealer network. Deliverables include training and certification catalog, recognition and certification program guides, product and vehicle resources, business and reporting requirements, user training guides, end user training, and the overall Level 3 national business support.

Major Responsibilities

1st - KU Dept Operational Support: Administers and tracks the department’s purchase requisitions, purchase orders, budget, accruals, expenses, and expenses. Ensures the department documentation, compliance, and retention are met to company guidelines. Coordinates and administers the inter-intra department communications, meetings, reports, ad-hoc requests, recovery of cost related goods and services. Performs monthly dealer billing, no-show fees, and ad-hoc reports as needed. (30%)

2nd  - KU Website Business Support: Provides Level 3 national business operational support and life cycle of KU website to national dealer network. Partner with the Digital Technology team to build and manage learning plans and synchronization of course launches. This process includes enforcing business requirements and procedures, frequent troubleshooting and reporting of system issues, documentation and prioritization of requirements, close-loop issue-resolution support, end user training, user guide creation, and vendor onboarding/offboarding. (20%)

3rd - KU Business Reporting: Provides Level 3 support of KU training and certification reporting. Responsibilities include proper documentation of report requirements, business prioritization, data research, data analysis, data recommendations, end user training, user acceptance testing, reporting requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure business support and requirements are met including the intricate synchronization of course launches, course requirements, and certification objectives against the annual Kia Retailer Minimum Training & Certification Requirements. (25%)

4th - KU Certification Program: Provides Level 3 operational support for dealer programs. Administers the planning, production, coordination, and timely closeout of each program phase. Responsibilities include administering and monitoring the annual Amazon Redemption process, managing vendor partner and program life cycle. Work with manger to project, drive, and monitor training and certification metrics, ad-hoc reporting, data analysis and recommendations, enforcement of program rules, and development of RIO/ROO analysis. (25%)


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Overall Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years administrative operations experience.
  • Minimum 3 years Level 3 reporting and troubleshooting support.
  • Strong emphasis on analytical skills and communications. 


Preferred Experience:

  • Automotive operations experience preferred.
  • Experience in a national training / support operations environment a plus. 
  • Experience in learning management system and business reporting.
