The Sr. New Initiatives Research Manager is responsible for providing the market research advice and support that is required by KMNA to ensure that all new initiatives are thoroughly investigated and assessed for financial and commercial viability. This support needs to be provided on both a reactive basis to service the needs of internal clients and project teams as well as on a proactive basis, seeking out opportunities to deliver analysis, research, insights and recommendations that make a positive contribution to corporate strategy and project planning. Additionally the role is responsible for supporting the growing research needs of KMNA’s Connected Car team and supporting the ongoing and frequent ad-hoc research needs of Executives and other Departments by means of executing projects on the proprietary KMNA consumer panel, using the Qualtrics survey platform and partnering with external research vendors.

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 50%

Lead position for all syndicated, trend and ad-hoc research that is related to KMNA, HMG and KMC new products, services, technologies, business concepts / initiatives and market sizing. 


2nd Priority - 15%

Primary point of contact and research lead for all Connected Car and current technology related projects and future revenue generating service.

3rd Priority - 20%

Lead for deploying, analyzing and reporting all projects launched on KMNA’s new 2021 proprietary consumer panel.

4th Priority - 15%

Support Department Director and Executive Management’s ad-hoc research project needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s degree in business or related field preferred
Overall Experience
  • Experience of working in the Technology sector with a strong personal interest and knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Minimum 10 years market research experience with a solid foundation and understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research techniques
  • Experience of working at market research agencies and within client-side market research teams
  • Experience of managing vendors and direct reports
