Kia America, Inc (KUS) Connected Car team is looking for a Sr. Engineer in the area of Connected Systems and Vehicle Technology. In this role, the eligible candidate will be responsible for working with business teams and engineering teams to develop product and feature specs which are in line with the company strategy and also bring cutting-edge customer experience using its infotainment and connected systems.  The candidate will play a key role in developing the Infotainment system rollout strategy across car line.   Additionally, the role will also require to be well informed in the V2X, ADAS technology, and its impact through connected systems. The candidate will be the single point of contact for embedded connectivity related technical questions, conducts product demos, perform feature evaluation and escalates issues to R&D when improvements are needed. This role will also be responsible for supporting root cause analysis activities related to the product launch and issue resolution drives process improvements and support policy documentation as needed.

Major Responsibilities

  • Supports development and implementation of telematics features on embedded platforms
  • Develops and maintains a pool of embedded features


  • Plan and support vehicle validation on connected technologies
  • Represents KUS in Infotainment/Connected system workshops and other relevant events at R&D, HATCI, NAQC, and other affiliates


  • Supports development and implementation of the Infotainment system and features
  • Serve as the voice of the customer for the infotainment and connected systems including the HMI (Human Machine Interface) for these systems


  • Be the point of contact for advanced vehicle technology likes ADAS, V2X
  • Build expertise in advanced vehicle technology and support KUS product strategy using these technologies



  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Overall Experience

  • 7+ years of embedded or connected technology development and launch
  • 5+ years of HMI, Infotainment Systems and Bluetooth development and launch

Directly Related Experience

  • 3+ years of Advanced Vehicle Technology development, testing and launch like ADAS, V2X, etc.


Excellent communication skills required (written and oral)
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
Hands on experience in embedded software and/or hardware
Strong technical skills / experience with infotainment, connected, Bluetooth systems and vehicle connectivity protocols.
Experience with in-vehicle technologies and other emerging technologies (i.e. ADAS)
Conceive and critic HMI changes on Infotainment Systems.
Leading internal and external teams/task forces.
Ability to easily and accurately develop product specs for engineering and non-technical audiences.
Ability to make sound judgments based on tradeoffs of complex problems, constraints, and market competitiveness.
Able to balance multiple complex assignments in a fast moving professional business environment.
