The Sr. Diversity Marketing Manager oversees diversity marketing, multi-cultural marketing, and Asian marketing and PR. This position is expected to lead KMA’s efforts in the marketing strategy, planning and integration of diversity marketing tactics to reach all demographic markets. This position drives the identification of business opportunities to maximize and reach to the various dimensions of diversity in development and execution of marketing programs that build Kia’s brand and grow the business with diverse consumer segments. This position oversees and ensures the success of the Asian Marketing and PR Manager.
1st Priority - 50%
KMA’s Diversity Marketing Activities. Lead the development, execution, and maintenance of all aspects of KMA’s Diversity Marketing plans to manage media, approvals and media placements focusing on diverse consumer segments. Creating strategy and providing direction and support to functional teams on Diversity initiatives targeting the various dimensions of diversity through marketing and media strategies.
2nd Priority - 20%
KMA’s Multi-cultural and Hispanic Marketing Activities: Lead the development, execution, and maintenance of KMA’s multi-cultural and Hispanic marketing activities.
3rd Priority - 20%
KMA’s Asian Marketing and PR Activities: Lead the development and execution of KMA’s Asian Marketing and PR activities including communication messages that reflect Kia's brand essence by collaborating with Corporate Communications/PR and Diversity.
4th Priority - 10%
Marketing Support for Regions and DMGs: Support KMA regional staff and Dealer Mktg Groups to direct strategy and tactics to grow business by focusing on the diverse consumer segments in the areas; including periodic field visits and DMG meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum: 10+ years of corporate marketing or agency experience required, including specific content/functional experience focusing on diversity marketing.
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of marketing beyond general marketing, including the U.S. Latino and African American markets.
- Asian marketing experience a plus.
- Broadcast production experience a must.
- Knowledge of general principles of marketing and sales.
- Demonstrated ability to assess market conditions, then evaluate the opportunity and provide analytical insights.
- Demonstrated success in interacting effectively with colleagues from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Experience managing vendors, building business cases and managing budgets.
- Fluent in spanish (speak, read, write).
Other Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally.
- May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays.
