Summary

This position interfaces with Kia Corporation (Kia HQ) in Korea, its supplier partners and resources within Kia America (KUS) to assist and/or conduct the technical review of all vehicle diagnostic systems, diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, vehicle system and component repair processes.  This role provides relevant automotive vehicle repair expertise to enhance future releases of original factory vehicle service information and diagnostic systems.

This position also provides assistance in the development, implementation, launch and post-launch retailer support of associated service information system and diagnostic system platforms (including hardware, software, Internet and website) to enable efficient and effective vehicle diagnosis.  Occasional overnight and international travel is required.

Major Responsibilities

Priority 1st - 25%

Interface with Kia Corporation (Kia HQ) in Korea, its supplier partners and resources within Kia America (KUS) to assist and/or conduct the technical review of all vehicle diagnostic systems, diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, vehicle system, component repair processes and Special Service Tools. This role provides relevant automotive vehicle repair expertise to enhance future releases of original factory vehicle service information and diagnostic systems.

Priority 2nd - 25%

Assist in the development and pre-launch administration / planning of diagnostic system platforms, service information and special service tools systems to ensure efficient and effective vehicle diagnosis.

Priority 3rd - 25%

Assist in the retail launch and logistical support of diagnostic system platforms, service information systems and special service tools to KUS retailers to ensure a smooth roll-out and adoption of the new systems and processes.

Priority 4th - 15%

Assist in the post-launch retailer support of diagnostic system platforms, service information systems and special service tools to ensure efficient and effective vehicle diagnosis.

Priority 5th - 10%

Evaluate and recommend improvements to current and future electronic service information systems, diagnostic systems and special service tools to ensure effective and efficient vehicle diagnosis.

 

Education/Certification

  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience in OEM/dealer work experience

Overall Experience

  • Advanced experience in an automotive vehicle service and repair
  • Proficiency in electronic information and vehicle diagnostic systems
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills preferred

Directly Related Experience

  • Ability to thoroughly evaluate vehicle service information procedures and electronic vehicle diagnostic equipment

Skills

Advanced vehicle diagnosis and repair skills/knowledge
Ability to utilize and evaluate the effectiveness of advanced vehicle testing equipment
Basic understanding of Intranet/Internet systems, website architecture and fundamental HTML skills
PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
